Whidbey Coffee’s Founder’s Blend stays true to it’s Northwest roots with a rich full-city roast, balancing the natural sweetness in coffee with the bold roast-influenced flavors of dark chocolate and baking spices. The blend brings together three of the finest coffees from Central America and Indonesia to create a blend fit for our company’s founder. Perfect on its own, or deliciously complemented by cream and sugar, Founder’s Blend is an ideal daily cup.
We started with a balanced coffee from the award-winning Beneficio Las Segovias mill in Nicaragua, which contributes balance and chocolate notes to the cup. From the island of Papua New Guinea we sourced a mellow, fruit-forward bean to add to the overall sweetness of the blend. Finally, we mix in a small percentage of Sumatra Mandheling to add the heavy, yet silky smooth body that can only be found in coffees from this exotic origin.
